More Monsoon INFO.

Hi All,

Here are a couple of more rather detailed links that you may find of interest in learning more about the Arizona Monsoon.

My particular research interest is in the "thermal heat low" and how it operates in relation to the North American Monsoon. Here is an article that talks about the heat low and lightning:

Hope you enjoy the Monsoon!!!

MONSOON

Hi all you moisture lovers!!!

Here are some of the information links noted "on-air" about the name of the monsoon.

Definition items:
http://www.ispe.arizona.edu/climas/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsoon

FYI - I do like the name Monsoon verses other names that have been noted for this season. Here are a few of the comical ones:

The "Fickle Flow" - it really is very hard to know exactly what days you will get hit the hardest (sort of like a codependent relationship - the kind you may see on Dr. Phil or Springer).

"Moist Madness" - going with the sports theme noted one morning by Mike Chamberlin our morning anchor.

Mike gave me the idea of creating a "Mike's Mugginess Index" based on the curliness of his hair.

Thanks for all your calls with an interest in this.

Hope you stay a "dry guy" (that's what we told our 3 year old when he was getting potty trained) during the monsoon.

Ciao,
Stefano

What to WATCH OUT for:

Remember that heat does kill as noted in earlier postings so please take time to cool off and keep from getting ill during this high heat spell.

Sincerely,
Safety Steve
